Why are magazine covers beneficial and effective for celebrities
When a celebrity is featured in a magazine it exposes them to several opportunities. Once a celebrity and their interviews/photoshoot pictures have been published in a magazine, this immediately increases their credibilaty and bankability as proffesionals because this means that they are officially worth being featured in a magazine and noticed. This opportunity for the celebrity means that they are automatically promoted and awareness about them and their image is spread. This gives the celebrity a chance to state their opinions and express their personality if they are a fresh artist or celebrity. Magazines also reach mass audiences so the celebrities image would be wide spread.
Magazine advert conventions and examples of magazine adverts
Taylor Swift's magazine advert is a clear example of a successful and informative advert with many conventions. Her advert contains the basic information needed about her album such as the title, her name, what is included in the album, a central main picture of her, reviews and logos. These conventions used for her album effectively display her personna as a desirable and gorgeous woman with a trendy and innocent style. The conventions added such as what is included in the album is done well to educate fans and audiences of what they're buying
Shown here with my selection of magazine adverts it is obvious that each artist has a particular image and style, and uses particular methods and conventions to come across as a specific person and appeal to a desired target audience. They are clearly recognised as each having a similiar and token look in all of their appearances whether it being on TV, music videos, photoshoots etc. Normally an artist can even have a range of colours that they're automatically known for using constantly EG- Jessie J and black and gold and Katy Perry and red white and pink. Fonts and writing styles are also a key convention presented to help the audience recognise the artist, because of the artist using this type of method and presentation to form a statement for themselves and a simple motif for their image.

Rihanna's magazine advert is a key example of a very well marketed and presented advert containing all main conventions. The magazine advert here has informative conventions like the artist's name, the name of her new album, the main advert image presenting the artist's star image and her rebellious dark and sexual personna. The font and size of the text is also very harsh and makes a statement linking to her character and lifestyle.
