The narrative elements of my music video is inspired and guided by the TV show skins character 'Effy' from watching this and analysing the character I extracted key characteristics, personality traits and style of her as a character. Specifically her storyline was influenced and transferred into my character, after manipulating the storyline slightly so that instead my artist Melody's brother dies from a drugs overdose because of his reckless behaviour, whereas Effy's brother has an accident and as a result lives but has brain damage. Also considering that Effy's spiral of depression was faster and triggered further by his accident and her family problems and inability to be seen as vunerable,resulting in coping by excessively using alcohol drug taking and promiscious careless sex. It is clear to see that 'Effy's' behaviour and actions are transferred and included in my rebellious and damaged character for my 'youth' music video. It is necessary to say that my character is a 'doppleganger' of 'Effy' starring in the TV show skins. My target audience's who would enjoy my music video and artist's personna style and attitude ( with her underlying emotional vunerability and fragmented personality and depression) would immediatly recognise the similiarites and even imitation of the skins character, and her scenes in my music video. Especially if they were fans of Skins or particularly Effy's character, they would be able to assess and appreciate the links between Effy's character and my artist 'Melody' and may enjoy and become fans of my products more because of this key and impressive skins influence. Melody's character and the music video specifically would definetly be recognised through the Skins influence and the grunge influence, by everyone's idea of who Effy is and how she has been come across. 'Effy' is a token representation of the darker elements deep emotions and grunge style especially on social media such as instagram and Tumblr, her character is extremely common and popular on Tumblr. She is an image and association with romantisized depression and beauty. My character 'Melody' is also representing these elements and topics, because of 'Effy' as central inspiration, that my target audiences would like and relate to.
