Annotation of the first album cover
The Album cover evaluation and annotation
I finally chose to change the album cover to its final product (positioned above) because of the more proffesional style this album cover has. The album cover now looks without a doubt more like a real album cover, and also builds and creates more of an interest, and sense of an alternative style and theme to the artist and her music by the way I have chosen to edit and complete the album cover . The fact that the filler inside the artists outline are skyscrapers also imply many things to the given audience, and may encourage their perspectives.
What went well with the album cover=
The album cover generally was a sucessful and satisfactory result with a polished and proffesional look to it, also the editing of the artist's image proving to be artistic and creative also alternative.
The choice of colour and the position of the album cover was also decided well and matched themes of the artist's personna, and songs better
Another feature of this album cover that was done well was the actual photography of the artist, I conducted a photoshoot for the artist on a day in a woods and took many types of shots and angles finally selecting a suttle side angle shot
What would make the album cover ever better:
The album cover would of been better if I chose to add the artist's name to the album cover. It also would of been better if I organised and preplanned what shots and camera angles I would use to take the photos for the album cover photoshoot, and also pre planned how I would choose to edit the album cover and what to include in it.
What i've learnt from making the album cover
I've learnt that by testing new and different editing styles and trialing a wide variety of shots results in a very conventianal, and proffesional well created album cover.
I also learnt that planning and organisation is key and very neccassary when conducting projects like this
Annotation/analysis of the Digipack
What went well with the Digipack
The Digipack was well shot and has aspects of a realistic album and professional feel to it. During the editing process I believed that was the most successful part of the process of making the Digipack, because it was the most important section to create a convincing Digipack. I designed artistic and dark images which matched the character/artist and the nature of her songs. Also by adding the conventions from real music videos while also fitting the alternative and unique genre, and including aspects of the grunge association and style. The added extra details to the Digipack undoubtedly upgraded and added bankability to the entire album and the artist's image.
What would of made my Digipack even better
The Digipack would of been better if I firstly added the artist's name to the album cover, and also added some sort of 'note' or personal message from the artist to add an idea of personal connection, and interaction with the audience/fans. The Digipack could of also been more interesting by including images taken as shots where the artist is in motion, and doing something besides smoking/walking. Such as running or talking or laughing.
